What is the influence of class size on academic achievement? This paper examined the influence of class size on academic achievement. Actually, there is no denying that smaller class sizes have fairly significant effect on academic achievement. Basically Smaller class sizes provide the foundation of promoting students well-rounded by transforming their teaching methods and more comprehensive practices. Students could pay more attention to immerse themselves in the class, which despite they do not care about this kind of things. Students have priority to share their ideas with others and raise questions for discussion; in addition, individual confidence will be built up. Similarly, the small teamwork also could stir an attractive excitement or interest in the subject and create an atmosphere of greater interaction. Moreover, there is no doubt that the efficiency of teaching will be improved, such as, a better comprehension, a proper timetable and the ability of self-study. Recently ,Finn and Achilles has found that students in the small classes outperformed their counterparts in normal sized classes by a fifth of standard deviation, and that is an sizable jump in academic achievement. On the contrary, many professors are in favor of increasing class size. As far as we know the small class size allocates a huge number of investments from our financial budget; nevertheless, only a few individuals could afford exorbitant tuition for the smaller sizes education. Besides, it seems to cause a trouble ideology of money worship while the group staying together for a long time. Because the larger class sizes is more likely a big family or society, it is better to cultivate the recognition of good sociality ability, in which they will be used in academic study as well as work life.
