The criteria of an ideal teacher Teaching is a career that provides challenges, excitement, personal reward and a chance to encourage and support others to achieve their goals. When we talk about being an ideal teacher, there is a different of perspectives of what an ideal teacher is. We as teachers might even question ourselves about this sometimes and would want to know how ideal we are in the eyes of our students. An ideal teacher is the one that will gain respect from the heart of his/her students. The perfect teacher serves as a friend, guide, educator, confidante to his/her students and a blend of all the good qualities one can possess. Such a teacher shapes the entire life of the students. Firstly, an ideal teacher is one who can be a motivator to the students. He/she never lets the limitations of the students restrict their vision. He/she will constantly motivate them to reach ahead and broaden their horizon. An ideal teacher encourages students to take an active role in working through difficulties and takes time to work through concepts in detail with those who have difficulties. Secondly, I also think that an ideal teacher should be a role model for his/her students. Thus, based on this, a teacher should take care of their appearance. They should know how to act, dress, speak, walk or even talk correctly in front of his/her students for all these aspects are being observed by them. An ideal teacher leaves a life-long impression on his/her students and impacts their mind ia a positive way. As the saying, ‘once a teacher, always a teacher’. Next, another important criterion an ideal teacher must have is being loving and caring towards the children.
