Mid-Term Exam A high-tech heretic is a person who has been officially accused by his beliefs for technological and human development as following a false doctrine. That is what they refer to Clifford Stoll as and he is not that at all. I agree with Clifford Stoll on the idea that computers should not be used in the classroom because the students aren’t receiving and gaining the knowledge that they should be receiving. His view on the issue that computers are not good in the class room is a different one, but very true indeed. He uses several examples to explain his theory.
Gatto’s long, and successful, career within the American education system serves as more than enough evidence to confirm the credibility and accuracy of his opinions. His career is another indicator of his love for educating young people. Gatto doesn’t believe in forcing students to learn on a strict schedule (i.e: six classes a day, five days a week, nine months a year, for 12 years). He bonds boredom, a common condition possessed by not only students but teachers as well, to schools in the U.S school system. Many of his students said they weren’t interested in what was being taught because it was stupid and they already knew the material.
I mainly pushed them off because elementary teachers always wanted some kind of colorful and creative diorama or drawing. Even though I found this fairly simple, I just didn’t enjoy the trivial coloring or gluing. I would put these off so much that I would even have to ask my dad to come help me finish just so I could get to bed on time. However as I grew older I began to enjoy schoolwork more. It was becoming more complex, especially in math.
4-Audience: I think her audience in her essay is parents ,that with getting agree with her could be stand behind any teacher who is going to use “Flaking “style for their children in schools ,with that knowledge this method is useful for them. 5-Induction:In my opinion her induction for using flaking as a style of teaching ,has not enough strong to influence parents or other teacher to use flaking .she must be more specific with more details and
And it’s only the beginning. Michael got accepted into the school with only his physical abilities in mind; his grades were not so hot. The coaches were impressed and wanted him, but the teachers weren’t and definitely didn’t want him. So the coaches used the excuse: “it’s only right that we accept him”. After Michael started school at Briarcrest, the teachers quickly realized the challenge they had at hand with Michael Oher.
From the first quote inserted in film, the disdain toward the students from the veteran teachers, to Mr. Daiders sheer will to continue to fight for his dream to educate the young minds of the future, the determination was a constant factor in the plot of the film. Mr. Daider went through mental and physical agony just to teach these students even when refused to be thought. His determination was only shaken when his wife’s pregnancy was put into jeopardy, which was one of the main symbols in the film. But instead of staying down and quitting, he continued to follow his dreams through the support of his wife. In summation, Blackboard Jungle was a testament to a war veteran’s perseverance to follow his dream of molding young minds and bettering the future.
This quote caught my attention because as a child who grew up with an absent father, I felt this essay really got to the heart of the problem that many children faces now a day. I was lucky in knowing my father's decision not to have anything to do with me growing up was because he resented paying support. I wish I could believe parents left for altruistic reasons, but I think those are just excuses. If they really feared screwing up their kids they could take classes, they could learn to be parents, take anger management classes. Simply, they cannot be arsed to bother.
Many teachers do not like “catching plagiarists and bringing them to academic justice.” As she states, it is not hard to just cite the author that originally had the information you are using (Bojar). Plagiarism is becoming a big problem in the school system. Many students do not understand what needs to be cited and what does not. The school system should teach students the proper way to cite, and they should teach them that copy and pasting is not writing a paper. According Bojar to students at the community college have a hard time juggling classes along with his or her family and a job.
A professor at MIT meets Matt Demon and wants him to work under him after he sees how gifted and intelligent Matt Demon is. Matt Demon comes off very rude and tries to avoid any therapy help. The first therapist was is a good listener but he makes the mood very awkward and his personality does
When I was in high school I experienced a bad teacher in English, then that following year I had an excellent English teacher. The bad English teacher kept to the same old ways of teaching by requiring us to memorize boring vocabulary words, and work out of the Text book to learn grammar. We would walk in and she would tell the assignment and then we would barely hear her speak throughout the remainder of the classroom period. My classmates and I dreaded going to this class everyday and most of us had very poor grades resulting from
