Communication is vital in building that positive relationship needed for trust and respect, something that is very much needed when working with children, young adults and their parents. It is also important that we model positive and effective communication skills when we are asking pupils to think about how themselves are communicating. If we do not communicate effectively how we expect young adults and children the message is mixed and they find it hard to understand what is acceptable and how we should communicate with each other. 1.2 As Teaching Assistants we need to build effective relationships in order to do our job well. there are several generic principles that underpin building a strong relationship with children, young people and adults: Effective communication - one of the most important aspects of building a relationship is finding a way to communicate effectively.
1.1. Explain why effective communication is important in developing positive relationships with children, young people and adults. Communication is important in developing relationships with children and young people because having positive relationships with the people we interact with makes our daily lives easier and more productive. In an educational environment maintaining positive relationships opens up opportunities for good communication, it gives us confidence in our ability and an understanding of our environment. Accepting shared responsibility by knowing what our role is and what’s expected of us is very important, following recognised procedure and understanding shared values all promote good relationships.
Above, I stated why the topics should be addressed and how important it is for children to have organizations to help better themselves, by being healthy, social, a developing the skills that they should by having open play and encounter with parents, friends, teachers and families. Next, information was given on how important nurture can be for children. Children receive nurturing through social-emotional development and cognitive growth development. Then we went on to discuss the long-term goals, which I believe that they will excel to the highest extreme. Last, we discussed the effectiveness and showed evidence of how it will be effective.
They should try to help there kids reach there goals and make there future bright. Critical Thinking Questions 1. Being a good parent is just to be understanding in every situation that your child may or may not be getting into. They have to have the love and support for each child that they are raising. Just to always love the child to the fullest and make them feel like they are somebody in this world.
Building trust with parents or carers will result in them knowing that the nursery is a very good place for their child as it offers a great amount of help and support, which is especially important for new parents or carers. Other professionals It is also important to partner with other professionals as they will offer the support and services, where needed, to improve the overall development of the child. For example, a speech and language therapist may assist a child with communication difficulties. Another example would be a play therapist to diagnose, prevent or resolve a child with psychosocial challenges. Multi-disciplinary teams It is very important that everyone in a multi disciplinary team work in partnership.
EYMP 1 Task 2 3.1 As a trainee practitioner i need to show the knowledge and understanding of how partnership with parents is important to the success of each individual child in the setting. Promoting an effective bond between the parents and professionals, this provides a source of strength throughout their time in the setting. It is important effective communication with adult to be able to build a relationship of trust and understanding. Parents and adult are likely to give beneficial of supporting if the communications is strong and effective and this can be beneficial for the children. Build and establish relationships ,prevent problem,misunderstand ,stay motivate,establish mutual respect are some example. Aim children to learn,have fun ,play and engage. Children will lear and develop when ether is a friendly environment with people they trust.
On a daily basis we communicate to share ideas and information, experiences and emotions, share opinions and needs and wants. In doing so this allows us to build and maintain friendships, relationships and trust. Another reason for communicating is to build our own self-esteem- we praise children in the setting to raise their self-esteem and provide feedback to other colleagues for the work they have done. This helps to build their self- esteem too. In a childcare setting the relationships we foster with children/ young people are important as it is in this way they gain secondary socialisation skills.
Jody Foster Competency Goal III To support social and emotional development and to provide a positive guide Functional Area 8: Self I strive to provide a safe, secure and educational environment. My goal is to make my infants feel very special, loved, and well cared for. I do this by treating each infant as an individual with his or her own needs and unique characteristics. I like to start each day by saying good morning to each infant individually. My co-teacher and I try to never be out of the room at the same time.
