What event changed my view in the world? I would have to say when the government took away a parents right to discipline their child with a firm hit on the bottom. Can you remember when you were a youngster and you showed respect to all around you and listened or you knew what to expect? Being a parent today is harder than ever and so why do we allow it to happen? What has happened in today’s society? Why are the children doing what they want and not having to be held accountable for their actions? It is sad and scary at the same time that there are only a 2 out of 10 children that will show respect and listen to what is asked of them. We can sit back and see that their parents that are working night and day and that leaves children on their own to do what they like. Are parents too tired to deal with their behaviors and not set up any guide lines or structured routines to teach them the right and wrongs ways of life? Look around and watch and listen to our youth. What if you are on social assistance and still the way you behave is modeling what you want your children to do or be. Growing up we had chores, we had rules, you did what your parents asked of you, and you helped others when they needed as it was just common sense to do so. Let’s take a look at today’s youth. Why are they out of control? It seems that all they want is everything but not have to work to get it. They make fun of each other and are just mean that way. You have to dress a certain way, or talk a certain way, walk a certain way or else you are labelled and don’t fit into society. What are the youth being taught from a toddler and up? Where are the values and virtues for these children to learn? They have no shame in what they say and do in public and they don’t even think of what the consequences would be if they made a negative choice. There is no discipline now days.
