Being a vegetarian is becoming more and more popular. Many people think that when they come to being a vegetarian, they would have politically correct life. However, the vegetarian diet has not only benefits, but it also has risks. This essay will explain the advantages and disadvantages of the vegetarian diet. There are many advantages of the vegetarian diet. First of all, the vegetarian diet has health benefits that can prevent for health diseases. This diet is healthy and recommended for obtaining the nutrients needed for better health. It contains low amounts of cholesterol and saturated fats. So, it minimizes the risk of weight gain. This, in turn, reduces the possibilities of developing other health problems, such as, high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Second, vegetarian diets can also protect the environment. Vegetarian’s who are thinking towards conserving the natural environment, think in terms, like the conservation of the rain forests, which could become larger. Second, vegetarians have very limited choices when dining out. To exemplify, it can be a challenge in some areas, for vegetarians to find restaurants that offer meat free meals that fully satisfy. Finally, this could cause vegetarians not to get enough vitamins which could result in ill health. So they cannot eat out as much as non vegetarians because most non vegetarian restaurants do not cater sufficiently for the vegetarian
