A positive response to their initial enquiry regarding the setting is the foundation to the partnership. All members of staff have a shared responsibility to ensure that the family are made to feel welcome on their first visit, given the time to look around and the opportunity to ask questions. Families will feel slightly apprehensive on their first visit.
EYMP 1 Task 2 3.1 As a trainee practitioner i need to show the knowledge and understanding of how partnership with parents is important to the success of each individual child in the setting. Promoting an effective bond between the parents and professionals, this provides a source of strength throughout their time in the setting. This is the most important relationship to establish and maintain because the service user needs to be able to trust you and feel safe. Aiii Explain why it is important that social care workers work in partnership with individuals using the service and their family. It is very important that you work in partnership with the service user and their family because they may be able to provide useful information to support you in your work and you may be able to provide useful information to support them being part of the individuals life. If there are communication barriers with the service user, a family member can share information with you about how you can better communicate with the service user. They can make you aware of dietary restrictions, preferences and dislikes so it is essential to establish and maintain a good relationship with a service users friends and family.
(Bitter, Long, Young, 2010) Reframing is when a problem is shown in a different way and from different perspectives. “Through reframing, it becomes possible to grasp the underlying family structure that is contributing to an individual’s problem.” (Bitter, Long, Young, 2010) Reframing seems to be a technique that will work will with the Quest family. The family will be able to look at their problems in different ways as well as different perspective. They will be able to see the underlying problem and one person will not be blamed for the problem because the problem is a family
Effective communication is also important so that information given is clear, concise, accurate, and informative. This decreases the possibility of errors being made. It is important to work as a team with other members of the setting, so that the child is getting the support the need and so that ever one is working to achieve the same results and goals. Within my own we use a range of methods to communicate with parents such as, monthly newsletters, class teachers hand-outs/diary informing parents what their child is doing each term, letters and posters. Having effective communication with the parents is important so that they know how their child is doing and what is happening at the nursery.
Legislation and Policies are respectful of individuals needs and differences. Also, gives reassurance to their families that everything possible is being done to allow their loved ones to live their lives fully, where they have the right to be full members of society in which they live, choose where they live, what they do and to be as independent as they possibly can be. Outcome 2 1 A learning disability affects the ability to understand new or complex information, to learn new skills and how they communicate. Some may not be able to cope independently and may need extra support in their daily living skills, workplace or education. The individual my need support with managing their finances, their household tasks or even with socialising.
They will have a key person with whom they will built a relationship. They then enrol into a daily routine which helps them settle and gives them a feeling of security. The key workers gather informations on children and their families and learn how to bond with them and which routine they are following at home. They keep in touch with the parent/carer on a regular basis so informations are updated regularly. The children must feel welcome at all time and be surrounded with positive people.
CU2940 Identify the features of effective partnership 1.1 -.Any information that is shared with other partnerships is for the benefit of the service user and their family, by partnerships working together and gathering all the information together it builds a bigger picture of the service users lifestyle . Each partnership may see different things in their visits to the family or when the service user goes to settings and clinics. So by all working together they can implement and plan for all needs not just one that maybe seen by one professional. For effective partnership to work they will need to have good communication written and oral, build positive relationships in terms of respect, good rapport and understanding, share information, maintain good regular contact, work together for the needs of the service user and have good working practice Explain the importance of partnership working with; 1.2 – Colleagues It benefit’s the service user if colleagues have a good working partnership, it creates positive environments where clients settle better. Also building positive relationships is good for when it comes to sharing information, everyone knows what each one is doing, colleagues can support each other and enjoy their job better and runs smoothly.
Sometimes pupils may lack confidence and find it hard to communicate, so it is especially important to be mindful and approach them in a positive and gentle manner, this helps to build trust. It is vital to develop a positive relationship with parents, as they are the most constant adults in a child’s life, they provide beneficial support and help ease transition processes in a child’s progress. Effectively communicating with adults builds and strengthens relationships. It is beneficial to them because they are able to understand what they want and expect from each other and work as a team. Approaching an adult in an appropriate manner such as being at the same level when conversing with them displays equal power between them, shows respect and builds
Also parents and carers can trust practitioners as information is regularly communicated throughout the setting and any concerns are addressed in a professional environment that encourages open communication. Conclusion: The reasons why people communicate and what effects communication has within an early years setting is that communication is the main core of all positive relationships within the setting, without effective communication the fulfilment of your job role would not be able to be completed in a professional manner. You need to be able to communicate freely with all members of your team, your management, children, parents and other professionals to ensure the child receives the full care they are entitled to. Therefore communication plays a vital role in your day to day life and that if you don’t communicate and form positive relationships from the start this will affect your job as a child’s key person and may lead to further problems within your work
