Stephen is taken back in awe by this beautiful garden in front of him and it is thanks to Matsu that Stephen can broaden his artistic self. Matsu also tries to expose Stephen to other types of people, like Sachi, and make him a more tolerant person. This is a very valuable lesson to be learned and for Matsu to help Stephen learn this lesson, it shows much about his character and approach towards people. It can be clearly seen that rap meets this definition. Many rap songs utilise various poetic techniques and language features to capture and give a voice to an individual’s feelings. One example is the song Read All About It by Professor Green. This is an emotional song that reflects the themes of courage, acceptance and growth. Its poetic devices and language, alongside its subject matter, make Read All About It a worthy piece of literature to include in the Canon.

The words in this poem were very easy to understand. One phrase that really stood out for me was, “Where thoughts serenely sweet express how pure, how dear their dwelling place.” Images: Did the poet create strong images? What could you see, hear, smell, taste, or feel? The poet did create strong images. I could visualize that the person he is talking about is the most beautiful individual ever.
