“Wet and Reckless”

DANE MICHAELS a late twenties construction worker married with two kid, gets up every morning at 4a.m., rides too work with best friend and co-worker TODD JENKINS (late twenties construction worker, single) everyday.   He’s kind of a master of all trades, a modern day renaissance man.   He earns extra money by fixing cars, as a handy man around the neighborhood, and he’s also a featured drummer in an old school funk band.   A friendly guy everyone in the neighborhood knows and talks too in a time when people don’t speak to or know their neighbors.   Dane always gets home from work around 2:30pm, walks his kid’s home from school and helps them with their homework.

Then one day, Dane’s wife BRANDI an elementary school teacher took the day off due to feeling ill.   With the day off, she picked the kids up from school and decided to surprise Dane with an early dinner.

By the time Dane and Todd pulled up from work at the Michaels house they had no idea the family had planned a special evening.   Dane not having to watch the children that day had planned to use the free time to hangout and have a drink with his best friend watching the ball game.   The two walk in as the family prepares too surprise Dane.   While Todd notices Dane’s family and tries to signal his buddy, Dane doesn’t even take so much as a glance to his right to see the wife and kids.   He simply strides straight into the den, his man cave and turns on his new 55” flat screen television.   In an effort to show off Dane put the remote in Todd’s hand and goes over several key features on the set.

Todd realizing something is afoot tries to excuse himself and leave, but Dane isn’t having any of it, tells Todd to get comfortable as he goes to get a couple of beers from the refrigerator.

Brandi extremely angry by this time has already sent the kids to their rooms anticipating a confrontation.   Dane walks into the kitchen and almost walks straight into his wife, which makes him laugh...
