First of all, I want to thank you all for being here today. Before I proceed, let me introduce myself. My name is Ernie Chong as you could call me Ernie. Today I'm here to give you a brief review of Taipei. To start my presentation today, I would like to share a little story about Taipei. Taipei is the capital city of Taiwan. The island of Taiwan lies in a complex tectonic area between the Yangtze Plate to the west and north, the Okinawa Plate on the north-east, and the Philippine Mobile Belt on the east and south. The upper part of the crust on the island is primarily made up of a series of terranes. Most of the old island arcs which have been forced together by the collision of the forerunners of the Eurasian Plate and the Philippine Sea Plate. These have been further uplifted as a result of the detachment of a portion of the Eurasian Plate as it was subducted beneath remnants of the Philippine Sea Plate, a process which left the crust under Taiwan more buoyant. To make the first move of our visit in Taipei is by visiting one of the most famous tourist spot is the Shih Lin Night Market. Tonight market is one of the well-organized and most popular night markets. It is separated into two major sections. One sector covers the streets surrounding the traditional Yang Ming Theatre and stretching to the Chi Cheng Temple on Danan Road. The other sector is a centralized food court serving a wide variety of snacks that attract large crowds. At the Shih Lin Night Market, you can shop from store to store and have a large selection of clothes and accessories
