Water Pollution Essay Water is essential to human and organisms to live. It covers most of the world and makes up more of the world than land. Clean and plentiful water provides the foundation for prosperous communities. Although water allows us to live, it could be harmful to our bodies when polluted. One of the main causes of water pollution is chemical. Many industries and farmers work with chemicals that end up in water causing huge water pollution. Dirty water has became the world's biggest health risk. Because water is so important, all of us have to play a part in conserving it. Many of us have sat and listened to lectures on how important water is to everything from humans to trees. It is used in our hygiene, helps the body to maintain a constant temperature, flushes unwanted items from our systems, and of course provides us with many recreational activities, from swimming to water balloon fights. Indirectly, we are dependent on water because it allows vegetation to grow and animals to live. Also, sixty percent of our body is water. Without water, there would be no us. For this reason, water has a bond to the human race. However, over 1 billion people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water. Many people and animals die each day due to dirty drinking water. Different types of chemicals are released that harmfully affect our drinking water, aquatic life and wildlife. These include fertilizers and pesticides that are used to control weeds, insects and pests containing nitrates and phosphates. Run-offs of these chemicals can cause water pollution and poison aquatic life. Subsequently, birds, humans and other animals may be poisoned if they eat infected fish. Besides, metals as lead and mercury and solvents from industries can pollute water bodies. These are poisonous to many forms of aquatic life and may slow their development,
