This devastation affects a majority of the U.S. being one of our largest sources of fresh water, and will only continue to deplete, as companies carelessly dump their waste into the lake. Consumption of fish from this lake will soon be obsolete if immediate action is not taken. These are all things that need to be considered by industrial businesses, families, merchants, fishermen, and environmentalists. As long as the waters are polluted the economy will experience great loss, and may even see jobs created by the Great Lake, eventually
Drinking water from the tap tastes different, and its not a very safe thing to do I believe. The chemicals that are used to filter the tap water, such as, chlorine, lead and giardia, are toxic and it’s very dangerous for humans. The process of filtering the water strips out all the natural minerals that are found in the water, and our body needs it. While the bottled water is all natural resources, which means the natural minerals are still there. Also it feels like drinking water that its fresh and tasty.
Identify the processes (e.g., coagulation) that were used in this lab and describe how they were performed. You start out with the contaminated water that has not been filtered out or has not had any chemicals added to it, this is many done so air can meet the water and this gives the chemicals and gases to release. I then added Alum to the dirty water since when mixing Alum with the dirty water it allows all the big particles to “stick” to the Alum and then pushes all of these particles to the bottom of the water. The dirty water is then put through a filter of sand, charcoal, and gravel in order for any of the smaller particles to stick to them and makes the water clean and free of any other particle. After I did all this I then had to add a few drops of bleach so I could disinfect the water from any other dirt

I think twice before I reach for a plastic, easily disposable water bottle. From my humble experience of painful running and agonizing dehydration, I realize that more people than necessary suffer from dehydration and a lack of clean water. The world is imbalanced and needs to find equilibrium. By grasping my part in the story, an epiphany occurred to me. We, as a whole, need to ban together to help others; water needs to be equally shared and conserved for everyone to gain access and use to fulfill their basic needs.
Abstract The theory that water is contaminated and cannot be filtered to drinking status is tested. Testing was done by taking water and mixing it with different types of contaminates to see what effects pollutants have on groundwater. Contaminates were mixed with the water in beakers and cheesecloth was used to filter the water. I found that contaminated water is not easy to filter for drinking and most the samples were still contaminated after being filtered. Introduction In this lab, water quality and how contaminated water can be filtered to drinking water is examined.
It is an essential thing to keep life going for everybody on this planet; humans, animals and plants. No one can live without water, and lack of water would affect every single creature on earth. If we think about it for a second, human bodies are composed of 55 to 60 % of water, which gives a clear sign of how important water is. And since the human body gains the water it needs from fruits and vegetables besides drinking water, fruits and vegetables are needed for humans, and rain is the main factor that helps them grow. Some cities in the world, drink tap water, and don’t have to buy water like we do here in the states; the tap water they drink is filtered and driven to houses or areas where people leave.
Explaining how he had to stop using toilet paper, he also mentions how that was one of the most difficult stages of the No Impact Project. However, he found a new method to clean himself by using a rag. No one knows how many rags he went through, but many people in the society would not give up toilet paper. Toilet paper is like breathing to people. People will not stop breathing, just like people will not stop using toilet paper because we are accustomed to having it while using the bathroom.
Trisha Campbell Dr. Kendrick Anthropology August 12, 2013 Back in the 1970s the soda companies saw that their sales were leveling out. People also started to realize that soda wasn’t that good for them, so they started to go back and drink tap water. The big soda company’s started to realize that so they made people think that bottled water was better than tap water. People weren’t buying the bottled water at first until the big companies made people scared and insecure. They told people that when they get done that tap water is going to be limited to washing dishes and taking showers.
Even though I would be alone in the world, I know I would have the strength and support of my family in the afterlife looking over me. I would keep striving to make them proud so that they know that I did my best and I did everything for them. I kept my life going so that I could make their dreams come true since their life was cut short. Because I would have probably known little of hygiene, I think I’d probably just try and cover myself up from head to toe. Maybe realize that I should shower well and more often and use clothes that covered all my body parts well; including my face.
