Mineral and Water Function Essay Anita Trent SCI/241 Friday 1, 2012 Axia Mineral and Water Function Essay What an extremely valuable piece of information, I have never herd about coconut water before, and all the benefits it has. I can not believe all the outstanding benefits this coconut water has on the human body, the article states it can help the affects of glaucoma, cataract, and it is reported to turn back the clock by slowing the ageing process. The article also states that coconut water has an alkalizing effect on the body; it helps counteract or balance the effects of acidifying foods. Another interesting part of the article is that coconut water may help reduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke. For this reason, doctors have used it as an Intravenous fluid for rehydration, injecting it directly into the patient's bloodstream. The general effect of dehydration on the human body is fatigue, changes in blood pressure, the brain (forgetfulness), disturbances in mineral balance, dry mouth, and children can develop diarrhea.
