Walking Benefit Essay

Many times my telephone rings and on the opposite end of the line would be a familiar voice, my friend from around the corner. Her question was always the same one, “Do you have your walking shoes on?” We would soon be on our way. Sometimes there would be no telephone call. We would just appear at one another's front door with the greeting, “Let's walk.” We walk every evening and take a different route each time. During those walks we laughed, we cried, we poured our hearts out to one another without reservation.
A walk has been part of our daily routine except for rainy or windy days. Currently I am seeing the world through the eyes of a three year old child. Most days we pass a house that has an assortment of rocks as part of the landscaping. We must stop each time to decide which rock is our favorite one. At holiday times comments are made about the decorations at each house along our way. What fun it is to walk with my friend whether it is to just notice the birds or smell some flowers along the way.
After walking, I always feel relax. Every stress, sadness, and angriness are replaced by freshness, fun, and happiness. I feel the blood coursing through my veins again. My heart races more strong rhythm. My lungs work more efficiently. I feel having more energy to do the things I enjoy. My brain becomes discerning. I can how to solve all my problems. I feel like the sunlight shine into my mind and heart and light up my whole life as warm and serene and golden as on a bank side in autumn. I recognize that I don't need to travel all over the world; I don't need to make a lot of money; I don't need to stay in fancy hotels; I just need to be able to walk freely around where I live, eat, sleep and relax without fear. And I know this is what everyone in the world needs too, not big slogans, not causes to die for but just the right to live our
