Creating a Caring Community can be done in many forms, from Foster homes to volunteering with the gifted. Fostering loving relationships is not only teaching your children to love an respect one another and all human beings, not matter who they are or where they come from but also goes from home to the workplace and classroom by spreading hospitality, friendship and kindness in everyday life. Showing compassion and caring for others are key components in mission statements of daycares and nursing homes, assisted living facilities and schools.
Just like most churches, the income a church receives is by its members and donations from the community. Since CMC is limited in numbers and located in somewhat of a hidden area, I think the members should all come together and actively contribute to the community. By doing some great examples can be helping the homeless shelter, offering free tutoring to kids, having free car washes, and also donating whatever we can to the less fortunate. By doing this the church can bring across more people in knowing about not only the lord and all the great deeds he has done but also, Cerritos Mission Church. Not only are we doing this all for free for the community and to bring attendance but also, the main goal is to spread and worship the lord to the people of Cerritos.

Collectivism emphasizes groups such as family, nation, and community and believes that the needs of the many outweigh that of an individual. Charitable giving and volunteering, including giving money or objects which will benefit an organisation also demonstrates pro social behaviour. The most heavily researched area of pro social behaviour however, is emergency intervention, the act of providing direct aid to someone in an emergency situation.
Symone Hall Period 4 Gatsby and Alger Myth Essay Somewhere there is a person who has a image of success they hope to obtain. This vision of success differs for individuals, because most learn to achieve mere material success. Contradictory to this, Horatio Alger’s idea that success as respectability is in Professor Carl Brucker’s, “Virtue Rewarded: The Contemporary Student and Horatio Alger” (1984). Brucker explains The Horatio Alger myth that to earn respect from your community one must be virtuous, be rewarded with a lucky break from god, and use effort to make the most of the chance opportunity. It is conveyed in the book “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald with one of the main characters, Jay Gatsby.
The field of human services allows caring individuals to help those who cannot help themselves. The Goal of Human Services The human services field is comprised of many different types of professionals including social workers, caseworkers, program coordinators, outreach and crisis counselors, and victim advocates, who all have a common goal (Martin, 2011). That goal is to help “people meet their basic physical and emotional needs that for whatever reason cannot be met without outside assistance” (Martin, 2011, p. 4). Some people are not able to meet their needs on their own; this can be due to the fact that some people lack a family and friend support system, are unemployed or uneducated, face social exclusion, are affected by natural disasters or are suffering from a mental illness (Martin, 2011). Social service professionals work in diverse settings in order to reach the varied populations that need assistance.
It’s more along the lines whether someone wants to help out the community in which they live. Sometimes someone is just the kind of person that just wants to help all the time, then theirs people like me who will help out if they get an urge to or if they pressured into it and then there’s the people who just don’t care. Although service does give you experience in different skills be in managing a fundraiser could help you with management. How important is community service to me? Honestly I don’t care to it but other do so yea I’ll go out and help sometimes but only things I like doing.
Tanya Merva Ms. Goldman AP Lang per 4 18 September 2012 Helping Hands There are those who presume that offering incentives for charitable acts send a morally wrong message to youth. Don’t the children and adults still obtain money, food, and clothing because of the participation of students? They do. The organization for charitable acts encourages students who under normal circumstances wouldn’t volunteer, to help. Our students in the 21st century don’t recognize the idea of helping or volunteering without receiving commodity in return.
