The Values of True Love There are many things in this world that we as people share together, but nothing else can bare, mend, and even heal like love. Every place we go and everything we see has in some point in time been touched by some form of love. Love is all around us, from a Mother’s love to the love of our teachers towards students, we all are blessed with love. The sense to feel love can be shown or felt in many different ways, from an emotional or physical sense to even a spiritual love. Throughout time, many authors from every aspect of literature have tried to convey and capture the sense of love. William Shakespeare and W.B. Yeats both have written poems that show the true elements of true love. In the poem Let me not to the marriage of true minds by William Shakespeare, love is spoken of in an emotional way rather than a physical way. Shakespeare speaks of love as never to be shaken. Love should never have any boundaries and can never be taunted with. He mentions in the poem about the heights of the stars being to far to reach but if you really want that star, then it is worth going after. This is the perfect metaphor of love. Love is so precious, so incredible, that anyone should go any distance to attain it. Love can take you to places you’ve never been before and in Shakespeare’s poem he describes love perfectly. On the other side of love, the physical side that is, the A Last Confession by W.B. Yeats describes is type of love very deeply. Behind all of the feelings of love and the emotions put into it comes the physical side. This part of love gives you a way to show your feelings and emotions though an amazing action of making love. When one makes love rather than just has sex, you are making a connection with that other person. You are a sense of one, just as your hearts are one in love.
