It has emerged that education is one of the powerful tools to influence the world. Thus, pursuing higher education is very essential for every individual living in this technological advancement era since better professional opportunities are only provided for highly qualified candidates. This also denotes that higher education also contributes to the individual success. Nonetheless, some have considered that university is a non-compulsory educational level after completing secondary education. There have been so many debates over this controversial topic to decide whether or not it is actually beneficial. According to my own perspective, I firmly agree that university education is crucial for an individual to succeed in life on account of three remarkable reasons. First and foremost, university has been regarded as an educational institution that provides advanced level of education as a preparation for students’ future careers. Unlike secondary school, university mostly focuses on the specific major field upon the student’s specialization. Students can choose a variety of majors that really suit their interest for their normally four years of university studies. This feature enables them to be prepared for their future careers. For instance, if a student wants to be a computer specialist in the future, therefore, he or she should pursue a degree in computer science. The university will then have an organized curriculum which encompasses various specialized courses for the student to take during his or her school years. Additionally, every course in the curriculum are designed in the aim of sharpening the student’s skills in the chosen specialized field. As a result, after university graduation, students will be able to practically implement what they have learnt in school to meet the demands in their workplaces.
