:This is a written appeal in response to the denial to pay me unemployment benefits. I’m writing this appeal in hopes of over turning your first decision. First let me say that I was hired by Debbie Goodman to work the front office check in position at Dekalb Surgical Associates on 03/11/13. Prior to being hired I was interviewed 2 separate times and at NO time during these interviews or after being hired did I receive or sign off on an “Employee Hand Book.” After being hired I was given a job description or outline of my job duties for Front Office check in, again there was NOTHING listed about conduct rules or “office orders” that had to be followed. My first week on the job I was trained by several different employees, each of them trained me in how they performed my job, again none of them spoke of any conduct orders or rules that needed to be followed in this office against other employees/coworkers. During the time that I worked the front office I worked closely with two employees in particular, Lindsay and Tracey. In the beginning, all three of us hit it off we got along and worked together very well. Lindsay would often refer to us as the “triangle” of the front office, meaning that we worked together so good that we would not be complete if one of us was not there. Our days together would be filled with laughing and joking around with each other and at times calling each other childish names. At no time did any of us get our feelings hurt, there were several times that Lindsay would call me an “Easter Egg” because I was wearing a paisley colored shirt, or she would refer to me as “stupid” or “dumb” these type of verbal “jokes” would happen all day long between the 3 of us and again no one’s feeling were hurt and I know this because at NO time did either one of them state that their feelings had been hurt and that they wanted to stop joking
