The pros of a uniform dress code are that it can reduce drama in the style area. The uniform policy can reduce gang action; with uniforms there would be no way to wear an item of clothing to associate you with a gang. If all students and teachers had uniforms on then it would be easy to identify any on campus trespassers. Making it easy to keep the kids safe. Another thing good about school uniforms is that nobody would have the desire to steal any item of clothing during p.e.
Students would have a less chance of getting hurt or committing murderous acts. Second, uniforms eliminate competition. Students need to learn that school is not a fashion show. I know it's fun to go shopping for the latest trends but school is a learning environment. We should be there to learn, not check out who is wearing what.
There is no reason for public schools to force students to wear these uniforms. It is sensible for schools to be able to make dress codes, but telling students they have to all dress the same is absolutely ridiculous. There are many reasons to prove why schools should not make their students wear uniforms. Instead of being seen as an individual, these students are seen as just another kid in a uniform attending school. The United States is supposed to be a country of freedom and individuality.
Orcutt Academy’s dress code should become more lenient toward the issue of leggings. As it stands currently there is not a disclaiming that the wearing of leggings are prohibited. In the Orcutt Union School District handbook there is nothing written on whether or not legging are allowed or have restrictions against them. With this said, that means that any of the other school in the district are allowed to wear, which includes elementary and junior highs. The only reason there is a restriction against this clothing item is due to the administration .The final decision on how the dress code at our school is interpreted is dependent on the administrations opinions.
To make the decision on what type of trainer we designed, we made a questionnaire for other pupils in our class to fill out to get a better idea on what people liked and didn’t like. This made it easier to make the assumption on the target audience for my shoes. In preparation to the task, we made a collage of all different types of shoes to compare what different types looked like the aim of this was to get a better understanding of different shoe models.
The students he was talking to was predominantly of Latin decent. That prediction is not the right thing to put into young kids mind. It is irresponsible of Mr. Blessington as an adult, to say to teenagers or anyone for that matter. He should be teaching the kids that anyone can do anything they want if they put the effort and determination towards it. This is the type of teacher that should never be allowed to teach in schools period!
This can end up causing them to pick on and mistreat the less popular people of their school. Jocks are looked upon as heroes to some, and enemies to other. Once again, it just depends on what category one happens to be in while in high school. Preps are very similar to jocks, only without all the sweat. In most cases, preps are the students of the school who only wear high dollar clothing, fix their hair just perfect every day, and prance around thinking they are better then the rest of the student body.
School uniforms are to be used to limit skin exposure and anything gang related to prevent anything that might harm students or symbolize anything unsafe. In some cases, students rebel and try to make the uniform look according to the way they want to be portrayed as but the reality in that is that the policy isn’t going to let them do this. Students need to oblige to the uniforms given to them and not complain because it can get much worse than just putting on a simple shirt that you have to wear every day. Take for instance IDEA School; their uniform policy is VERY strict and they only allow you to wear what they want you to wear not what you think belongs to the uniform. In this school, the students are only allowed to wear the school t-shirt, cakey pants, closed toed shoes, and a belt that won’t let your pants sag down to your knees or farther.

Chelsea Langle November 14, 2013 Period 1 Should Students Wear Uniforms? Imagine walking into your school and you see everyone wearing the exact same outfit you are wearing, and the same clothes you wore the day before. Not a very appealing site.
