Legal citizenship program B. Amnesty Undocumented Immigrants Should Have a Path to Citizenship Today in 2013, immigration is becoming a hot issue in America. Undocumented immigration is the movement of people from their native country to a foreign country without official authorization to reside in the foreign country. Undocumented immigrants have always made a significant contribution to our country. Back in colonial times, Englishmen emigrated from England to come to the new world. The US warriors of the American Revolution were immigrants. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo around 1846 gave the United States of America ownership of California, and large areas like New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Wyoming and Colorado. Mexicans in those areas had the choice of becoming U.S citizen or return to Mexico. During Civil War around 1860-1865, the United States of America needed immigrants to work on the expansion of the railroad system. In WWII the United States of America created a program called Bracero Program. The Bracero Program allowed undocumented immigrant to come to USA to work in agricultural labor.
