For people who are blind or partially sighted impacts on the individual can include losing the ability to read peoples facial expressions, body language or to see bodily gestures. This will also affect their reading skills such as simple things like reading books, magazine even personal documents such as bank statements or household bills which in time will cause tensions for the person and may cause the to withdraw from society. Relying on some one else to read their written communication in regards to private correspondence has an effect on maintaining the persons dignity and confidentiality. Distractions – Some people can find difficult to concentrate with background noise. People with hearing problem may find difficult to hear clearly if the television or radio is on. Positioning – it is important for effective communication that people can see each other’s body language and facial expressions as these support verbal speech. Barriers – Barriers such a desk or table can block the view of each other’s body language, and create a sense of unease or hierarchy.

We have many reasons of communicating with each other, and these are to express ourselves as well as to pass on information and knowledge. Effective communication involves verbal and non-verbal interaction. P1 Both of these communication methods can be expressed through skills such as: * Tone and volume of voice * Body language- Posture * Facial expressions * The use of touch * Clarifying * Questioning This involves the way our tone interprets what you say and what influence it has on the receiver. Depending on what we say, we should know 'how' to say it. For example, if you talk very slow and in a low voice, people may consider you to be shy, embarrassed, not confident and unsure.
3. Explain why it is important to observe an individuals reactions when communicating with them? Observing an individuals reaction allows us to understand how a person has reacted to what they have been told. In some cases an individual could feel uncomfortable therefore observing how they react would allow us to accommodate how they feel and go about the conversation in a different place and/or manner. It also allows us to build a relationship with the individual easier as it we react to a situation better whilst observing every detail.
People will think it is temporary but ignoring it will have already hurt the environment. Additionally, not only do people not notice such doublespeak, but even in the event that they identify doublespeak, they may not be against it because they do not understand its bad effects. Furthermore, he uses active words to express how doublespeak will hide reality from people. For instance, in the last two paragraphs, he states that doublespeak will produce “suspicions, cynicism, distrust and hostility”. He tries to get people’s attention to think about how doublespeak will disturb their lives.
I have also learned that different people respond differently to different situations. Some handle situations well, some do not. I’ve also learned that suicide really doesn’t help anything it makes things worse because it can have a so called “domino effect” where if one person commits suicide someone else won’t be able to stand the guilt and would commit it themselves and so on and so forth. Individuals have a distinctive way of communicating in an effort to better understand each other. As a result, special studies have been performed to further analyze human interaction. These studies have led to the development of various communication theories.
This could lead to negative emotion and frustration and seriously inhibit a person’s life. Communicating effectively enables a person to convey a variety of needs and emotions for example if they are in pain, hungry, thirsty or too hot or cold. Outcome 2 Ways to establish communication and language needs, wishes and preferences would be to read the persons care plan or communication book. Introduce yourself and talk directly with them. Spend time with the person and observe them in relaxed surroundings.
