True friends are hard to find. Friends are the most important part of your life. Some are acquaintances while some are true friends. Who is a true friend? What are the qualities of a true friend? When can you call a friend a true friend and when can you be called a true friend. A true friend is someone who is there through thick and thin, sadness and laughter, good and bad, and sorrow and happiness. A true friend is like a brother or sister but difficult to find. There are friends, but few are true friends. I was able to determine who a true friend is, after these two major experiences. My first experience was with Alex, my childhood friend. We grew up together in Houston and our parents are very good friends. Besides, we attended the same elementary school, middle school and high school. Surprisingly, we are attending the same college and sharing an apartment together. Therefore, I considered Alex a good friend and even a sister until she proved otherwise. I found out, Alex has been keeping my incoming and outgoing mails from me for months. Mails like scholarship applications (transcript and three letters of recommendation), internship offers and other important letters. Secondly, I discovered Alex was stealing my clothes and throwing them away. This made me so mad that I had to confront her about it. Alex confessed about the letters, clothes and other bad stuffs she has done. After this occurrence, I forgave Alex but could not forget it. So, I had to move out of the room and her life. The second experience was with Mary, a friend I met in my freshman physics class. We were paired to work on a term project together, which gave us an opportunity to spend time together. After the project, we became friends. When my father died, Mary came all the way from her summer vacation in California to stay with me and help me
