This is a book about “popular and pretty, liberty who enjoys being the center of attention and will do almost anything to get her way. Even accusing her music teacher of rape.” She would even steal boyfriends. This book takes place in Sutter’s Crossing. Liberty has just moved to Sutter’s Crossing where she finds Val as so called a new best friend. She has a big house, style, money, and attitude. On the first day of school liberty is surrounded by new friends and boys drooling over her. +Ryan who is Val’s best friend is not that kind of gay. Liberty has taken control of the school by the end of the first day. The schools social scene is in liberty’s hands, and the action starts to heat up. “Liberty is the kind of girl who wears a see through blouse to any party (to the delight of boys).” She does not seem to have much parental super vision. She calls Val to be “new best friend” to get Cody (Val’s brother) fall for her. But Val best friend Ryan becomes increasingly distanced with her. Val’s discomfort peaks when liberty talks about the music teacher as being “hot” and hangs around after class. When liberty accuses the music teacher of raping her. “The balance of the book twist and turn as the main character Val, Ryan, and Cody work out the story behind the accusation and learn some uncomfortable truth about Liberty.” How liberty lied to everyone about the music teacher.
