Even in instances where cameras were shown to decrease certain types of accidents, they increased other accidents. The use of red light cameras has definitely allowed motorists to become more conscience of their surroundings when approaching an intersection. They are less likely to proceed through an intersection and risk a chance of receiving a violation. Consequently, the fewer tickets issued the less revenue for cities. Statistics show that the number of tickets has dropped during recent years having a major impact on the number of red light
Save time? As Vadim pointed out in his email, while you think you’re saving time by driving faster, it’s not a lot of time. And that small amount of time you’re saving isn’t worth it, considering the other factors on this list. Better yet, start out a few minutes early and you’ll arrive at the same time as someone who drove faster but started later, and you’ll arrive much happier than that person to boot. 4.
These p-plate laws are affective in reducing accidents on the road, because they reduce p-plate drivers to a low speed as well as slow cars. Peer pressure is another important factor which can cause accidents on the road. The current laws help to reduce peer pressure, by not allowing p-plate drivers under the age of 25 no more than one passenger at a time under the age of 21 between the hours of 11pm and 5am. This p-plate law helps in reducing peer pressure related accidents, because it stops overcrowded cars and distractions from friends, which allows the driver to focus only on the road. Lastly, Drivers safety is an important issue within the current p-plate
1st draft of the essay There’ve been always an argument between the benefits of commuting with public transit and cars. The famous saying, “Haste makes waste” makes this topic very clear. As America is a commuter culture, people need to find the most beneficial way to commute. According to the article “The Bus, a Modern Panacea” by Lester Detroit, student should take the bus more seriously because it could solve many individual, local and global problems. The author states that commuting with public transit has more benefits than driving a car each day to school.
Through data mining, the decrease in the demand of parking can be obtained. The information needed to gather this would be: the number off employees in the program, the financial incentive amount, and the amount of time the incentives were given at separate but equal intervals (Bullock, 2011). A decrease in cars on the road would limit the amount of traffic on the road and also free up precious parking space. Tolls for single use carpool lanes will also benefit in decreasing traffic. The carpool lane is mostly always free of traffic during rush hours which is good for carpoolers, but also counter intuitive.
There for cutting down on the consumption of fuel and less traffic jams. If you cut down on how much fuel is being used and how many highways are being built just to accommodate these vehicles you’re making a bigger disaster than most people think to the environment. Owen makes these ideas clear that less space and more transit means less energy and fuel. He realizes that even though many find the idea of New York actually being a green city ridiculous that in many cases it is very true. The living space is scarce but less energy is being consumed and wasted, and the transit not only lowers traffic but places less fuel in the atmosphere than what is really
This is the main reason that a lot of people want to have the driving age raised. They think that when these teens are a little older, their risk of crashing will significantly decrease, making roads safer for all. The problem with this logic is that the main reason that this age group has the highest crash rate is that they are the least experienced. If the driving age is raised, the only thing that will change is the age group of the inexperienced drivers. Instead, a good idea would be to increase the amount of time a teen needs a permit for, in order to get more experience before actually getting a license.
According to the Insurance Information Institute, insurers also consider local trends such as number of accidents and car thefts in areas where customers live. State Sen. Tim carpenter stated, “I don’t think good drivers should have to pay extra because other parts of the zip code, which could be miles away, may have higher crime rates or more irresponsible drivers. My bill will make sure that auto insurance premiums will be based upon the driver’s record, the years experience a driver has behind the wheel, and the miles driven, not by there zip codes.” With this new law premiums must be low enough that people can afford them and don’t end up and break the law. (Gores.1&2) Drivers in Milwaukee pay on average $1,044 in 2010, up from $979 in 2001. To people in Milwaukee, this new law is unfair.
On average, drivers spend more than half their time driving engaged in distractive behavior. Most of the drivers on the road, about 94%, would agree that sending e-mails or text messages while driving is not acceptable and about 87% of drivers support laws against reading, typing or send text messages or e-mails while driving. But unfortunately in this day in age, multi-tasking is simply just a fact of life; everyone will face constant demand for their time, and will feel the need to juggle more things at once now than ever before. And the bad part of that is people try to multi-task while driving, and that is never a good idea (AAA foundation). Another concern in many different communities around the United States is the distracted teen driver, not just the adult.
my first article is about the new cameras in the school areas. I think that the cameras detecting your speed was a good step towards solving the problem of speeding but as i have noticed, many people slow down just for that area. Although it'll help the children, right after exiting the school zone, the people go back to speeding 10,20 miles over the original limit. This was a good solution for school areas but it has not solved the issue of speeding overall. The next article i have is about a drunk driver.
