1. You have been promoted to director of training of the Cruise Lines International Association. Reviewing the listed travel motivations in question 16, which would you select for a group of travel marketing sales seminars that will be sponsored by CLIA? (Attending would be travel agents and tour company reps.) Some of the motivations that I would recommend for the travel marketing sales representatives would be activities that coincides with what various cruise lines have to offer. Travelers that decide to go on cruises look for certain activities to do while on the ship and off the ship. Rest and relaxation, lots of nightlife and entertainment, adventure activities, good shopping and browsing would be the motivations that I would suggest. The sound of the ocean while receiving a massage would be an example of the rest and relaxation. Having things like cirque du soleil, nightclubs, karaoke and casinos are some of the things that travelers enjoy while at sea heading towards their next destination. Shopping and adventurous excursions are activities that travelers will enjoy while on land. Providing these motivations for the sales representatives during their seminar will provide the reps information that travelers will want to know when booking their cruise vacations (Goeldner & Ritchie, 2012). 2. Referring to the preceding problem, after selecting the motivations, what kinds of instructional materials and teaching methods would you employ? Why? Some of the materials that I would provide for the seminar would be brochures for each of the cruise lines that are available and what each of them has to offer. I would also include any videos so that the representatives can have a visual perspective for each of the cruise lines and their activities. I want to provide them the most realistic experience possible in order for them to feel as if they were on the cruise
