General Juan Alvarez launched a coup and after capturing the capital named himself president and made Juárez the Minister of Justice. He passed laws limiting the church’s power and in 1857 he became Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. That same year a new constitution was passed. This new constitution created a war between the liberals and conservatives and in December, conservative general Felix Zuloaga overthrew the government. Juárez was arrested and when he was released from prison he went to Guanajuato, made himself president and declared war.
AP US History The XYZ Affair The XYZ affair was a major political incident that almost led to a war between the United States and France. President Adams sent three ambassadors who were confronted by informal diplomats of the French Foreign Minister who demanded a bribe and a loan. When the word of the event became public the American people were angry. They demanded war with France but both Adams and the French minister ceased from declaring an official war, but a Quasi War did take place for two years. Since the 1789 French Revolution, relations between the French Republic and the United States have been tense.

The colonists are, well it seems, to always be at war with the Native Americans. The French are expanding in the Americas and so are the other colonists. The English pass laws that conflict with the lives of the colonists, creating a storm of anger within the colonies. The French get into another war with the indian's over some territory in Ohio. George Washington, takes advantage of the crippled French, but then is quickly put back in his place when the French conquer George Washington's Fort with overwhelming numbers.

Frederick refused, and their partnership ended there. In 1778, Henry was charged by the Saxon nobles with breaching the king’s peace and in turn lost his duchies. Joan of Arc: La Pucelle In the early 1400s, a civil war became present between two factions of the French Royal family, allowing the English to re-invade France. One side, the Orleanist or Armagnac faction, was led by Count Bernard VII of Armagnac and Duke Charles of Orleans. The rivals, who were known as the Burgundians, were led by Duke John-the-Fearless of Burgundy. His son, Philip-the-Good, led forces that later would capture Joan of Arc and hand her over to the English. A pro-Burgundian clergyman and English adviser named Pierre Cauchon later arranged her conviction on their behalf.
