Luisa Richards ENC 1101 Classification Essay Feb 24th, 2012 Three Common Styles of Terrible Catering Employees In the community of events and functions, there is a wide variety of different types of catering employees for all types of events and functions. However, one type of catering employees, are the terrible catering employees. Terrible catering employees have many different styles, three of which are the most common for many reasons. They’re late, messy, disheveled, forgetful, and their food is awful. Likewise, no one wants to wait until it’s too late to find out that they hired bad catering employees. Here is how hosts for events and functions can recognize the three most common styles of terrible catering employees that all coexist with one another; so that they’re worth your time, money, and reputation. One style of a terrible catering employee is the Over-Achievers who takes on more than they can handle. The basic characteristic of an Over-Achiever is that they try to do actions above their employment. They’re self-confident and believe that only they can do someone’s job right so they’ll end up doing their job as well as someone else’s job too. When they try to do two jobs that are on two different levels of service then they can be abrupt and almost rude, causing the experience less of a memorable one. For instance, I knew a young lady who, if I didn’t do my job soon enough or fast enough then she, tries to take on their job while doing her job at the same time. Now whether she knows how to do my job or not slips her mind completely because she believes that only she can do my job right. As a solution, the reason people become Over-Achievers is because they are insecure. So when a host hires catering employees sit down with them and remind them that they only have to do their job, and not anyone else’s. This will help take a small weight of their
