The Youth’s confusion concerning moral values: What is right and wrong? Values are the most important aspect in our lives. Our behavior, attitudes and emotions are affected by our values. It is only sad to discover that most of our youth or today’s generation doesn’t possess the good moral values that our grandparents have taught us. Most of our young people today don’t give proper respect to the elders, to their teachers, to their friends and even to their own parents. They want to be independent and liberated to the point that they become morally corrupt. The innovation in our technology, the social networking sites and the absence of the guidance of our parents because of economic reasons (they become OFW’s) also has great effects on our values. Even though we know what is right, the freedom we have gives us the decision to make our own choices...and sometimes we tend to make wrong decisions or wrong choices. Despite many Filipino people are claiming that they are Christians and the Philippines is a Christian Nation, their holy books are the "Word of God," but ironically, they don't actually follow the examples and ideas written in those books. The corrupted world influences us to make worldly choices rather than Godly choices. I think, our faith in God is the only firm foundation to make the right choices...which is the Godly choice. I have observed that people apart from God tends to commit more mistakes or wrong choices in life which leads to a miserable life. But once people have accepted God and follows His commands, God gives us a peaceful and blessed life. The Bible instructs the youth the secret of having a long life...as it is written in Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the LORD your God is giving you.” These are the values that our youth must possess. I am so grateful to have
