The world appears designed, so god exists The design argument is an argument for the existence of god, or more generally of some kind of intelligent agent of creation, based upon proposed empirical evidence of human-like design or purpose in nature. The ‘design argument’ explains that through looking at the complexity in the world and how everything seems to have been miraculously created we see how there must have been an intelligent creator as there must be no other option. There are many features which may suggest the universe shows design such as order, purpose and benefit. One criticism of the claim that the universe shows design is the ever ongoing development of scientific discoveries of the universe, such as its size and its content.
