The Workers Perspective of Different Grocery Store Shoppers

People do not always notice the different types of the grocery store shoppers. When working in a grocery store, workers begin to notice how people fall into different types of groups. Every person that works in a store may see it differently depending on the area they work. There are several different kinds of the grocery store shoppers, when shopping pay attention closely and see the difference. The first type of shopper is the storyteller shopper. This shopper usually comes to the store during the day and takes their time so they can socialize. They talk with other customers, employees, and friends. Most storyteller shoppers are older or retired people. They seem lonely at times, and a trip to the local grocery store seems to help brighten their day. Their conversations can be short and long it just depends each time. Most short stories begin with a recipe or a question for someone else’s ideas. Long stories can go into what is happing in their life, how their children are, or about a trip they took. It is nice to see a storyteller shopper because they change the pace of the every day grind by taking the time to talk to everyone. The second type of shopper is the questioning shopper. This shopper usually has questions for the employees. Things they may question are where product is, or if a product is good. The questionable shopper is any age but usually is from out of town. When customers are new to a grocery store, they have a hard time finding things even with the aisle description in bold letters in each lane. When the shopper asks questions about a product, it may be something new they have not tried it yet, and want the worker’s opinion. Questions also can be what is in a product, or if there is something in the back because the shelf is empty. No matter if the question is simple or detailed, the questionable customer will find someone to ask. The third
