How much does our sense of time and of the importance of time owe to the creation and development of clocks? Introduction In this essay, I’m going to discuss how the creation and development of clocks has influenced our sense of time and the importance of time. It is very hard to imagine what the world would be like without the usage of clocks and watches, and fortunately we do have these today. I think the creation and development of clocks has got a lot to do with how we as people in today’s world look at time and how important time is to us. Basically time is the means by which all the tasks are achieved and all events occur, that makes it so important because without it then life wouldn’t be. The accuracy of clocks and watches The first clocks and watches to be produced only had two arms, the minute and hour arm. This resulted in the clocks and watches not working accurately and so somebody had to reset them constantly. Nowadays the second arm allows for more accuracy of time, and if ever a clock or watch stops working efficiently, one can easily reset them using the built in button they come with. In other words the addition of the second arm has brought about the complexity and deepness of time, which in older times wasn’t really that much explored. Time is the basis of all tasks to be performed The world today views time as basically the base of all the tasks which need to be done. Everybody who lives today has distributed their time according to all that they need to achieve at a given time period. Each and every task that a person needs to achieve in a day is always given a time limit to ensure that all the set tasks are achieved.
