The primary mission of colleges and universities should be preparing students for the workforce Nowadays, some people believe that the primary mission of universities and college is for students to learn knowledge and skills which related to their future careers. In contrast, there are also people who holding the stand that college and universities should only focus academic material only without thinking whether or not it is useful for the workforce. Therefore, the main function of a university and college to either deliver only academic based material or to prepare the student for future employment had become argument for many parties included government, college management, employer as well as other scholar. Universities indeed teach students a lot of useful information regarding academic subjects and said that purely on the academic area, but yet, no one can deny that this knowledge is not valuable for their future working purpose. Initially, on the perception of a student, the main and only purpose of getting in to university is to acquire sufficient knowledge for the intention to find a better job in the future. However, if the university and college only deliver academic knowledge such as theory to the student without any practical knowledge, this is not sufficient for the student to grant a better job opportunity. For the above reason, it is necessary for the university and college to provide work skills related knowledge to the student, while at the same time, the important of soft skill should not neglect as well such as communication skill and decision making skill and etc. As far as should be concerned the actual needs of students as well as the need of industry of how the student should be are the most important consideration for the university and college.
