The Perils of Texting Path to Prison Case Study Questions Of the five moral dimensions of information system described in the text the one that I see predominate above other is accountability and control since based on the information the driver could be held accountable due to her constant texting on the phone. Quality of life also appears since they knowing about the information of the frequent car accidents do to phoning should create a concern for Politian’s but they instead act for their personal convenience. The ethical issue raised by this case is the fact that driving and also operating your smartphone is a dangerous behavior. It doesn’t matter if your texting or just talking on the phone it creates a distraction that is dangerous for you and for the other that surround you also making it a social issue. The political issue is that if political figures start opposing this behavior the public is going to react unfavorable meaning they will probably wont get reelected again and by this simply avoid the subject as a whole. The ethical principle described under this case should be Risk Aversion Principle since by texting while driving your endangering in a risky behavior for something that is not worth it. After all the risk of this action is your life in some cases and even others that currently surround you. Something that goes by hand with this principle is the golden rule since you wouldn’t do to others what you don’t like, and by texting you are also making the driving environment more dangerous meaning putting other peoples life’s at risk.
