It teaches us to be thankful for all the favors we receive; to love each other, and to be united. We never quarrel about religion.” “Brother, the Great Spirit has made us all, but He had made a great difference between his white and red children.
This alludes to 1 Samuel 18:7. This allusion is significant because it is both encouraging and relatable to the American soldiers. In this time period, the colonies were very dependent and passionate about their faith in God and the Bible. This allusion from the Bible is stimulating for the soldiers because they could relate to their religion and American faith. Another biblical allusion that Paine successfully uses is “ ‘Show your faith by your works’ that God may bless you” (716).
Ruth demonstrates her faithfulness to Naomi, by refusing to leave her side and displaying a strong and willing commitment to her mother-in-law (Ruth 1:15-17). Additionally we see another act of faithfulness which is shown through Boaz, he keeps his promise to take Ruth as his wife (Ruth 4:9-10). The unconditional love that God desires all of us to attain is shown through the faithfulness, kindness, honor and security within the book of Ruth. However, redemption is the fundamental theme in the book of Ruth. Boaz, Ruth’s “kinsman redeemer” rescues Ruth and Naomi from an impossible situation.

Members may swap in and out of existing groups, but the hope is that ultimately all members understand and value the great treasure all generations, genders and races bring to the Christian community. Ultimately all participants will come to the realization of the great truth from 2 Corinthians 12:8-9: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Where they lack, Christ will be strong for them. SELF-ASSESSMENT OF HOW THE 5 ESSENTIAL ACTIVITIES OF AN Education that Produces Disciples Was Incorporated and Integrated Mitchell lists the five essential activities of an education that produces disciples. Two spirited individuals are accepted because they are honored within the community and highly respected. Two spirits are looked to as religious leaders, teachers and caregivers because they can do the work of a woman and man. . It is important to Native American cultures that they are respected not only for their religious values but simply due to the traits they possess. Stereotypes that are associated with Native are worrier-hunter images that are portrayed in the American culture (Arviso, 2012).
In keeping a faithfully open mindset relationships are built, you may even feel love. Love is the strongest aspect of faith because it never falters when it is true. Although the strongest aspect of faith, it is also the most difficult to develop. Love and faith can both have very positive affects on your future. Having people who actually care around you can give you the strength to accomplish anything.
Like Havel, this instils a sense of duty to the common man to continue the “unfinished work” so that “these dead shall not have died in vain”. The final altruistic phrases: “government of the people, by the people, for the people” further imbues a sense of hope “under God”; an uplifting moral stance that penetrated deeply into the hearts of people who listened to Lincoln’s short, succinct but sweet words. This speech is relevant today because we needed to reflect upon the values that great nations were built upon, a divine goal that America hopes to achieve and sets an example for humanity to follow. It was set as a backdrop to King’s “I have a dream” speech, that African Americans once again, would be the victim of
