Tammy Harrison Lauren Henry English 032 March 10, 2012 The Most Difficult Job The most difficult job I have ever had was working at Bose assembly line. Standing on my feet for eight to ten hours was hard labor. I was not use to standing since all of my previous jobs were administrative jobs, where I sat down for most of the time. While working at Bose, the standing was made the job more strenuous. When I got off from work, my feet used to hurt me badly. I would have to soak my feet in warm water and my man would have to massage my feet for me. Working on an assembly line was very difficult for me. I would advise anyone who has worked in the administrative field not to take an assembly line job. In the administrative field, you sit down majority of the day. I learned how to set up programs and different software. I also engaged in meetings, traveling, trainings, and business presentations. I learned social skills, how to work with others and how to compile business oriented documents. I thoroughly enjoyed the administrative field. I’ve gained experience in management also. I am able to teach others everything that I learned. Being able to teach others is a great management skill. Momentarily, I was able to switch areas with my co-workers, but for the most part, I did the same boring dreadful job every single day. There was no variety in assignments. I never traveled, learned new techniques, or was trained for anything different. The same miserable assembly line began to drain the energy out of me. I thought about the work that I was doing and how it could be of assistance to me in the future. Besides, maintaining my motor skills—it couldn’t.
