Christianity Worldviews Origin-Genesis 1:1 shows God creating the heavens and the earth in the beginning. Christianity affirms that “God is the infinite, personal (triune), transcendent and immanent, omniscient, sovereign and good being who created the universe.” (James Sire, The Universe Next Door, p.23, 26). To say that God is infinite is to say that He is a necessary Being and there was never a time when God did not exist. God is transcendent in that He is not part of the creation, but separate from it. However, He is also immanent, in that He cares for His creation, enough to reveal Himself to mankind.
There was no righteous human being except God alone and, therefore, Melchizedek would not have been a human being since he was called a King of righteousness. Above all other areas of dogma within Christianity, monotheism tops the list. Monotheism is the belief in one God who rules over all. This one God is the creator, and stabilizer of the universe we reside in. Christianity also believes in the Bible being the only set of scripture inspired by the word of God; Virgin Birth; martyrdom; the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; the second coming of Christ; the creation of the world through the one true God; life after death; Hell; Paradise after death; and the Holy Trinity. Above all of these dogmas, the faith in a one creator God who rules the universe is the most important.
I know this is true because it says so in the Bible. I believe the Bible is the word of God, given to man, and written into a book. My view on this is the same as Billy’s view on the nature of God. Billy said “The Bible is a book of Redemption, and of course I accept the Creation story. I believe that God did create the universe.” (Letters to Creationist, 2010).
(Heb. 6:1 faith is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things not seen. I would answer the Axiological question by saying, “God is the creator of the for universe.” Not only does he creates everything, he is everything. So that means because God is of value, we are of value too.We have to always keep God center. (Exodus 20:3 You shall have no other Gods me.)
Although fallen, we are still God’s image bearers, and mankind is still at the pinnacle of His creation. The prophet Daniel told the pagan king Belshazzar that God hold our very breath in his hand. If our very breath depends on God’s grace and mercy, then He is obviously still involved. He is not a God who is aloof from his creation. He still controls the rising and setting of the sun, the direction of the wind – the forces of nature are under His control, and He does with them what He pleases.
The emphasis on faith was based on the belief focused on individual faith in Jesus Christ as savior, with “faith” understood as personal trust rather than knowledge of facts about Jesus and salvation. In other words, God, is a Protestants’ one true leader and faith alone is what will keep you holy. In turn, for Protestants this life is a pilgrimage, a journey toward an eternal destination. That destination is an eternity spent either in heaven or in hell. Those saved enjoy some benefits here on earth during their pilgrimage.
As a Christian our lives are to serve and obey God’s Laws his commandments and the purpose is to get into heaven. This and now is only a test to see if your worthy to enter and inherit his praise. In conclusion: The overall view of this module I learned about the Christian Worldview and how Christianity is viewed in the world. The Bible timeline open thoughts on my own beliefs, and knowing that I am a Christian and find more about my personal views. The detail outline really made me focus on critical thinking of GOD and what I truly believe in accordance to worldview and notice that majority of my commitments are consistent with the beliefs of Christian Theism.
As we analyze the question of did Jesus claim to be God, I believe that not only did Jesus claim to be God that Jesus is God. In the matter of does the Bible have authority? I strongly believe that the Bible is the infallible word of God; the Bible holds all truths and revelations for our lives. If we believe what the Bible says then we know with confidence that we have what God intended for us as believers to know about him. Also we have seen why our testimonies are important in sharing the gospel.
