Why gym class (P.E.) should, and shouldn’t be counted against your GPA. Physical education is required by almost every school in the country, and the grades are counted against the students G.P.A. This causes a problem for some students that are physically unfit, but need to keep up a good grade to maintain a good G.P.A. An easy solution for this would be to take off gym as a class that counts against a students G.P.A, but many schools and universities do not agree to this.
Team player Section: Fitness & Exercise Being part of a sports team means more than increasing your strength, stamina, and skills. The physical benefits of playing sports are extremely important. But being on a sports team also can help sharpen interpersonal skills and give you practice in coping with stress and anxiety. "You feel more comfortable being around people," says 14-year-old Brian, from Sudbury, Massachusetts. "It also helps when you do group projects in school.
My confidence plays a big role in the person I am today. Freshman year was based on hard work and trying new things. This taught me to be in control. The work was not going to get done for me so to succeed I was the one who had to push myself and take over. Being a part of drill team has helped me with control by helping others in learning routines or chants with taking charge when others do not.
For example the background of a child affects the child in many ways. Most children from broken or unstable family background with a lack of parental guidance, can lack self-esteem, may be withdrawn from their studies and have the tendency to be aggressive at school. Whereas children from stable family with both parents and parental guidance, would have confidence, there more likely to be attentive in class and emotionally stable. . Health It is important that a child has a healthy diet, a good sleeping pattern and lots of routine in their life to help them engage in physical activities.
For kids, playing sports should be a time of fun, a way to build social skills and promote healthy self-esteem. Unfortunately, these simple concepts can be lost in the wake of parental pressure to succeed and be the best. This paper will discuss different effects that parental pressure can have on children athletes such as burnout, anxiety and expectations and injury. No parent signs their kids up to play sports with the hope that their child will one day hate the chosen sport. They sign them up with the expectations that their child will have fun, learn to be socially skilled or have a healthier childhood.
Students need structure. Structure in the classroom will cause self motivation in students. Also, students don't like being held accountable for their actions. Having to talk to students about why they didn't finish their assignments will motivate them to do their work. Most students try to avoid being lectured or get in trouble for something they can avoid.
We teach commitment by first showing them what we as coaches are willing to do. This would include things during the season as well as during the offseason activities. We try to make them understand that making a commitment is essential to success in life. I also try to gauge each athlete’s commitment level by asking them questions about what sacrifices they are willing to make to reach their goals. Offering them off-season activities to improve their skills also shows them that to succeed it is important to work a little harder than
2). Instead of searching for a better educational environment, students look for better tests numbers. Lang Wood goes on by stating “Students can easily become discouraged and negative about education in general, which affects their learning ability” (par. 2). In addition to what Lang Wood believes, Stephens claims, students who are taking the test suffer from stress in result of worrying about passing it.
The program gives you challenges and opportunities to become a better citizen. The instructors are not like teachers, they put in an effort for you to actually try and build up. You do leadership tasks; you help younger teens, participate in things that other teens don't get to participate in. The class isn't boring, you’re always learning about new things, we do weekly current events, and uniform wear. Wearing uniform teaches us responsibility; we have to make sure that our uniform is in order, and has everything on correctly.
Just like anything else in life, it takes practice, and you will get better out of practice when you like the certain field than when you don’t, a good reason to why these types of arguments should be included in school arguments. School work sometimes isolates you from others. Graff says that “When you entered sports debates, you become part of a community that was not limited to your family and friends, but was national and public.”(They Say I Say, page 384) Also, schools don’t really notice how good arguments are made due to sports coming into play.
