Firstly, many students and adults do not know enough about managing their finances which is why they tend to get in to debt. If financial literacy is taught in high then they will not have problem managing their finances because they will have that knowledge. According to the studies almost eighty percent of the people in dept are in dept because they do not make a financial plan as they were never taught to. These people lack the financial literacy skills. This is why teaching financial literacy in high school will benefit the students later in their life.
They want to get a great job & establish a career, make good stable money, help out the family/ bring honor to the family, & they want to earn respect. I learned in this seminar that it is really hard for first generation students. They are stepping into new found territory; no one from their family is able to help guide them. They’re family
Lauren Benzing Ms. Nielsen English 9 6 November 2009 Year-Round Schooling: A Beneficial Opportunity Students, do you often feel bored at the end of summer? Do you hate forgetting material you have previously learned? Teachers, isn't it frustrating to have to waste precious class time re-teaching and reviewing things that students have already learned, but forgot? Year-round school would be a simple, yet beneficial solution to these problems. For many reasons, a year-round school schedule would be a great leap forward for the education systems of America, which are lacking compared to European and Asian ones (Holland).
Year round school runs on a system where students go to school for a month and then get a week off and repeat. The common myth about year round schooling is that a student have to go to school for more than 180 days. In reality year round schooling is just as long as traditional schooling. SOLUTIONS A reason for year round school is that it is more fiscally efficient. Since year round schooling has one group of students that are on vacation for a week while the rest of school is in secession, it allows for class room space to be used more and a single teacher would Evers # be able to teach more students because of the way that year round schooling is set up.
Why I Returned to School ENG121 Susan Turner-Conlon 08/05/2013 Why I Returned to School For some people returning to school is easy, for others it is one of the most difficult things that they can do. For me returning to school was something that I had to do. The way the economy is right now, the only way to get a decent paying job is to further your education. The money was also a big one. Good paying salary is something that was important me.
There are many reasons to choose year round schooling versus the standard schooling schedule. The first and most important reason that year round schooling is better is that it boosts test scores and retention rates. Another reason is that year round schooling provides different ways of scheduling the students’ school years to utilize the buildings and classrooms as well at the teachers and other staff. The third reason is that year round schooling helps parents keep a normal work and home schedule without the need of a caretaker for the long summer breaks. Here is a brief explanation from others of why schools should make the switch over from traditional school schedules to year round or modified schedules.
Options like going without a book are not sufficient, because no amount of note taking can accurately replace in class learning with the book. Students also attempt to wait until financial aid is available; this generally puts students behind schedule, which is not how to start the semester. These students start out the year missing assignments. Some students have to depend on their parents to help them get books. This is not a solution either, due to the country already struggling in a financial depression.
Back to School as an Adult Charity M. Gill Bryant and Stratton College ENGL101: Applied Writing #2 Process Analysis Mrs. Carolyn Spinner October 2, 2011 The thought process that anyone goes through in deciding to go back to college after the high school or college age requires a look back in time, a steady gaze towards the future and a serious reality check. There are a lot of good reasons to increase your education, such as having a more fulfilling career, being able to provide for loved ones and having the respect of others who have earned a college degree. It sounds a little frightening to the average adult who has children, job and life experiences outside of the school environment to embark on a journey to education especially
I would like to show my family that education is very important, because it doesn't only affect you but everyone that is surrounded by you. I would like to set an example for my little sister, and younger cousins, that anything is possible, and that your education sets a path for your future that if you have a bright future you can have a beautiful life. I would also like God to be proud of me as well. Bishop Noll Institute offers a challenging academic environment, I clearly see it in the upperclassmen’s attitudes and the standards that they set for me as a freshman this year. The more I know the better opportunities will come my way in the future.
A person who works full or close to full time should be given the opportunity to live a comfortable, productive life. With today’s economy however, many people are working hard and hardly gaining any benefits from their wages. Between the sky-rocketed house mortgages and the increasing gas prices, almost 70% of monthly earnings are spent on housing and transportation. After housing and transportation, very little money is left for utilities, personal necessities and perhaps entertainment if time allows. Life in America is about finding one’s dream and pursuing it; however, it has become very difficult for anyone to find their dreams due to work problems.
