The Magic stick “Velan” said Catty, my little sister. “Velan, please wait for me” she said while trying to walk a little bit faster. “Walk faster” I said. “The show will start any minute and we still have to walk a big distance.” She tried running but then I heard the sound of her falling and hitting the ground. I turned back and ran to Catty. She was looking at me trying to hold her tears from rolling down her cheeks. I took her in my arms and carried her. Catty had born with problems in her legs. They were somewhat distorted. She walked very slowly all the time trying not to fall. Her knees were covered with bruises. We lived in a small, poor town and we couldn’t afford a good doctor to solve her problems. “Will we be on time?” she asked as I carried her walking fast. “I don’t know.” I answered. Our mother had bought us tickets to go to the circus. Catty was very excited because it would be the first time in her life she would see tigers, clowns, ballerinas, magicians and other interesting characters. As the closer we got to the circus, the faster I walked. Finally, we arrived and to Catty’s surprise, we got there on time. We enjoyed the show a lot, especially when the magician came out showing his tricks. Everyone was surprised by the way he took out a rabbit out of his magic hat. Then, he asked for boy to come to stage to be his assistant while he would perform a trick. I offered. The magician took out his playing cards and I had to take one. Then I mixed them so the magician would not know which card I had gotten. And at the end, I don’t know how, but he randomly took out one card and it was the one I had gotten. Catty was amazed. To thank for my help, the magician gave me a small box containing a “magic stick.” When we got home after the show, I went to my room to open the small box.
