The quote “its not your fault”, repeated by Sean are strong words trying to get into Will’s head that his past is not his fault. Ishmael Daniel Quinn’s novel Ishmael takes a new approach to the teacher-student relationship. Quinn starts of the novel with a newspaper ad that says that the teacher is seeking the student and the student must have an earnest desire to save the world. She says that they where like his children in a way. At the beginning of the novel, Scout and Jem don’t stand in Boo’s shoes, automatically believing the gossip surrounding the Radley’s place, little did they know that he was on their side the whole time, and was even standing in their shoes. Scout and Jem both learned that most people like Boo Radely and Mrs. Dubose are really nice People, they just have to walk in their shoes and look at things from their point of view to really understand them. A lot of the events that took place throughout the book wouldn’t of happened if everyone would have thought about standing in the other persons shoes. Gilgamesh never thought about how hard his people had it, and he would have continued to think that they had it easier than they really did.
No wonder why daddy is so hairy,” Timmy exclaimed as he jumped all over the living room pretending to be a monkey. Oh dear! He’s learning evolution, Timmy’s mother thought in her head. The evolution of human beings from apes may seem ludicrous but when you mention the term evolution, many people would actually say that it’s the belief that humans evolved from apes. This misunderstanding of evolution can cause people to dismiss the whole theory and believe in creationism or intelligent design.
