Joseph Bird Mrs. Alexa English 2 9/25/2012 The Last Lecture During the course of reading the Last Lecture I learned many things. The book taught me valuable life advice as well as the relation between Randy and myself. Also I surprisingly learned more about myself. By reading this book I feel I will be more prepared for the future. This book gave me a certain perspective that is appreciative and thoughtful. I learned many things about life that I would have not had known if not for The Last Lecture. One of these things is to have determination. Randy tried and tried to be a Disney Imagineer. This was one of his brick walls that he overcame. Becoming an imagineer was his dream and just because he failed he did not let that stop him. Randy went to great lengths to achieve his dreams and I wish to do the same. That instance inspired me to stay determined whenever I face a brick wall. As I read The Last Lecture I began to compare Randy to myself. I discovered that we had many things in common. Randy and I are both determined. Whenever we face a problem and it seems impossible to fix it we do not quit. If I chose to follow a challenging dream I shall do so with determination. Also I believe I am polite and intelligent just as Randy is. Whenever my family and I would go out to eat dinner at a restaurant random people would comment on how good my brothers and I all were. Also I am intelligent and have a drive in life. By comparing myself to Randy I began to learn more about myself. During the reading of the last lecture I started to learn more about myself. I learned my strengths and my weaknesses and how to apply them. One of my strengths I recognized was my determination. Determination is probably my strongest strength and yet can lead to one of my greatest weaknesses. This weakness is stubbornness. Stubbornness can lead me not to see reason and
