Pausch explains how to get through obstacles in life and to just live life because you never know what could happen. Pausch uses his life problems to teach us lessons for ours. Everybody has their goals in life and something will most of the time get in the way. “Brick walls are there for a reason. They give us a chance to show how badly we want something” (79).
Prejudice was a good topic to talk about and to be recognized, and Battle Royal fit the toll perfectly. I had the idea of prejudice, but I was able to elaborate on it more with the help of my classmates and professor. I would also like to acknowledge and thank my friend Christopher Martin for reading over my paper and giving helpful insights. I always find that a peer knows how to understand what one is trying to say or help to make sense of it. He offered a lot of help and was willing to make notes on my paper to attempt at helping me make my paper the best it could possibly be.
Evaluation Essay of Cracker Barrel Restaurant Everyone has a favorite restaurant that he or she loves to eat at. My favorite restaurant to eat at is Cracker Barrel. The Cracker Barrel restaurants are not well known for fine dining, but for the down-to-earth ambience of country folks dining. I always enjoy dining at the Cracker Barrel because the atmosphere is welcoming, the food is great, the service is excellent, and an added gift shop offers encouragement. Every time I walk into a Cracker Barrel restaurant I obtain the best feeling.
September 27, 2011 Dear Dr. Brigg, After writing my essay on the Myers-Briggs test, the portion I believe to succeed in my essay was providing solid examples in my life to relate to the four letter code that I had received from the test. The other successful portion in my essay was the explanation and difference of the letters for each personality trait. I believe that my essay showed that I had an obvious understanding of what the Myers-Briggs test was and how it helped confirm my personality and career preference. When I completed my essay, I was eager to improve my paper and fix any errors. The way I improved my paper was taking my instructors constructive criticism and making the necessary corrections, to the best of my ability.
Running head: Check Your Perception Jamie Schee Module 3, Assignment Grand Canyon University Com 101 Instructor: Calvin Habig September 20, 2009 Check Your Perception Many of us go through our life going on our first interpretation of another individual(s), and there are times when our assumptions are accurate, but there are also some instances when these assumptions are wrong as well. In the text book ‘Looking Out looking in,’ Ronald B. Adler and Russell F. Proctor give their readers a great insight on how we perceive others and ways or steps we as communicators can use these techniques to a greater advantage. Perception checking is a great technique and tool we can use to progress our communication skills. I want to begin with the three steps of perception checking. According to Ronald Adler and Russell Proctor, “A complete perception check has three parts: A description of the behavior you noticed At least two possible interpretations of the behavior A request for clarification about how to interpret the behavior” (page.106).
VAR Reflection Assignment I did my VARK test and my result was that my learning style was Kinesthetic. I expected to be Read/Write because I noticed that I remember the best when I read over few times and make main points. Vark Inventory Reflection According to the VARK learning style inventory, my preferred learning styles are read and write. I agree with the results, Read/Write which means that I need teachers who use words well and have lots of information in sentences and notes. This preference is for information displayed as words.

Going into AP English class, I knew there would much to learn and that I had much room to grow. After looking back critically over the work I had done throughout the first semester of my junior year, I realized that I have already come a long way. After looking back at the comments Mr. Murphy had written about my writings and the notes I had made to myself, I noticed that my conclusions, thesis, organization, word and verb choice needed work. In contrast, some positive aspects about my writings were good insights, citations and flow. When looking back on my old free responses the reoccurring weaknesses were my conclusions and thesis statements.
