He has become an unstoppable killing machine who believes he is invincible once the three witches reveal their prophecies and their apparitions to Macbeth. These are all qualities of a criminal, Macbeth knows what he is doing but he continues to do it without regard for any other person at all, this is a classic demonstration of a psychotic criminal. Being the criminal that he is and performing the unlawful actions that he performed were undeniably the cause for the downfall and eventual death of this Shakespearean Tragic
The first reason Grendel makes a great villain is his superhuman qualities. For example, Grendel has the strength to smash men’s heads with his bare hands. In his first night’s attack in Herot, he kills 30 men within minutes. No Dane had a chance to even fight back. Another example is found in lines 372- 375: “ they could hack at Grendel/from every side, trying to open/a path for his evil soul, but their points could not hurt him”.
Roger is in a wild and primal environment as he undertakes saying obscene things to other boys. No matter how old a child is and what he or she is going through, everybody should recognize murder is morally inappropriate and illegal. “Chaos is one thing, fear is another” (Golding, Why 1). Both fear and chaos are on the island as the dispute continues, but it’s no excuse to such reckless behavior. Roger could have indeed chosen to be alongside Ralph in the dilemma of the hunt.
He was a thief, slander and he would abuse the gods by “putting then in jeopardy, and he was able to save then because he was very cunning” (Willis 195). When they look at Loki, they could not tell if he was a god or a giant. At one point, he was the friend of Thor and Odin and at the same time he would give birth to the monster that could killed them. The one thing about him he was a creator of figure and he gave birth to the World Serpent and Hel the ruler of the dead. (Willis 195) In North America the tricksters were also as cunning, they were able to steal the fire, able to outwit the monsters and play tricks on others.
“He was a tall, thin and bony and his hair was red underneath a black cap. His face was crumpled and freckled and ugly without silliness.”(pg.16). this is the introduction for Jack the main antagonist in William Golding’s Lord of the Flies and also the main source into the destruction of the society on the island. As Jack slowly loses his humanity he harnesses fear, savagery and his militaristic mindset in order to spread his influence and eventually gain control over most of the boys on the island. From the beginning Jack had a way with instilling fear into those around him; this can be seen through the way the narrator introduces his group “The group of boy began to scatter from close lines [Jack] shouted at them choir!
The monsters soon slipped though the door and silently killed thirty men and ran with there bodies while the was dripping. When the sun rose, they saw how well the demons worked and broke into tears. A Prince was upset about the lost of his friends and companions knowing that same demon broke the followers apart. Grendel was so powerful when he fought he won against many.
As the deaths continued and the monster’s vengeance inclined, Victor became increasingly enthralled in his problems and seemingly ignored others’. He could have killed the creature after he found that he killed William and Justine.. Instead, Victor san and reduced to face his problems face to face, he escaped. To call Victor a “hero” would be ignorant. He did create life, however he never took flu responsibility, always took the easy way out and was the force that created the suffering of the novel.
The Great Warrior There are many great warriors, but like any great warrior we all have weaknesses. Odysseus was a great warrior but had flaws. Odysseus is very clever. He tricked the giant and poked him in the eye and was able to escape. Another example of his cleverness is when he killed all the people that were threatening his wife to marry him and thought up a way to get rid of them.
Batman had to bevery forceful when it came to either one of the villains until he beat both the Joker and theScarecrow. Beowulf had the same in mind, but with Grendel only who was known for beingmalicious and undefeatable to nearly everyone. Of course the hero always wins, so Beowulf andBatman came out on top in each of their battles.Once the goal is achieved, the hero can go back to living their normal life. Batman was aman of two lives, one he could show to the public and one he had to hide to keep him and hisloved ones safe. He learned to balance one with the other, so he did not have to worry aboutwhat Batman had to do when he was Bruce Wayne; for the most part.
Beowulf the Hero A hero is someone who goes out of his way to do the right thing no matter what. In the epic, “Beowulf,” many things make the era in which our hero lives a dark and dangerous one. Monsters like Grendel and his mother terrorize people for no reason, and a huge dragon razes villages by breathing fire and hordes enormous amounts of treasure. When each of these dark beings arises, Beowulf shows the fortitude to challenge them with all his might and fury. These events show us that Beowulf is an epic hero because he possesses strength greater than anyone else in the world, he accomplishes great feats, impossible for anyone lesser, and his actions echo values of a good and strong leader.
