(1)“Studies have shown that there are, in fact, healthier alternatives to these school lunch programs.” Although these programs are more expensive for the school, they are nutritious and well worth putting a little more money into changing. I think public schools should provide healthier school lunch programs for their students. (2)”According to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, an organization that works to improve the nutrition of school lunches, a nutritious school lunch can help prevent your child from gaining an unhealthy amount of weight.” The numbers of children that are overweight keep sky rocketing as well as the number of children developing diabetes. More and more children are eating unhealthier by the day. (2)”Studies have shown that school lunches have tons of saturated fat and calories in their pizzas, cheeseburgers, chicken
Keeping track of what foods are consumed and in what quantities is the first step to eating healthy. When a person overloads his or her plate with a lot of food and eats until the stomach will not take anymore that person is creating dangerous health problems for themselves. In order to avoid this, people should keep track of how many times or servings they have eaten. Also, eating foods that contain low calories and are rich in nutrients can give the person a good waistline to show off. Eating more vegetables and fruits and less junk food are a really good source of vitamins that the body needs in order to maintain a healthy diet (O’Connor, 2008).
For instance if someone eats a lot of fatty foods like Kentucky fried chicken (KFC), they are putting themselves at risk of becoming obese or even developing cardiovascular disease or type 2 diabetes it is very important for a person that has diabetes has a healthy diet if it is not controlled properly it can lead to some very serious complications such as, blindness, kidney failure, strokes, and gangrene leading to amputation of lower limbs. Snacking between meals was once a discouraged behaviour but now it’s normal if someone’s snacks consist of healthy food, such as fruit and doesn’t affect their daily calorie intake then there isn’t a problem with it however if snacks consist of high in fat, sugary foods then it could be a problem. People that consume several packets of crisps are severely increasing their risk of high blood pressure, heart disease and high cholesterol levels as they get older. A majority of people tend to stick to the traditional three meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner but in an increasingly busy world many people find they do not have time to eat breakfast and tend to skip it, some tend to skip breakfast to lose weight however some people over eat and eat more than three meals a day. Skipping meals could have many risks on an individual it stresses the brain and body and can lead to
Too much fat in a person’s diet can also cause disease when over consumed. Too many carbohydrates can lead to obesity and an increase in calories. Just as much as too many macronutrients is not good for a person too little has its effects too. If a person continually eats too little protein he or she can become susceptible to disease, it can cause a person to develop anemia, dry skin can develop and in women their bones can become brittle. If a person does not have enough carbs in his or her diet, he or she lacks needed calories that is also known as malnutrition.
Cespedes (2015), “Lack of proper nutrients can limit the body's immunity, limit the body's ability to rebuild itself from daily punishment so that your muscles do not rebuild, it can because you to have bowel problems, infections, decreases your ability to think and remember things. So essentially without proper nutrients, vitamins, and the building blocks of life such as protein, your body can wither away.” After doing this little experiment I have learned many things about my diet and eating habits. I know a lot of my inputs were based on time restraints on what I had going on over the weekend. So one thing about having a healthy balanced diet isn’t just eating proper, but making time and changing your lifestyle to be able to eat proper. Personally for me, I would need to add more servings of vegetables and fruit on a daily basis and eliminate the amount of cholesterol intake that I have been using.
That was not a good thing to do because it affected my metabolism and energy. I knew that I should try to eat several small meals during the day. I used to skip breakfast but not anymore. This was a crucial mistake in my path to weight loss. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Some view it as their only option to obtain weight loss in hopes for a healthier way of living. Obesity can lead to diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Having this radical surgery decreases the size of the
Many people may not realize the seriousness or negative effects of obesity, however, the obesity can create many health problems in the long run and you can take simple steps to avoiding the extra calories and weight. Whether if it’s engaging in a physical activity instead of staying home and playing a game console, eating more fruits to create a balanced diet instead of going through a drive through, or even cooking more at home to avoid buying a greater amount of processed foods, this will all be small steps to creating a healthier lifestyle. Americans must become aware of the dangers of obesity and work together to get the world back to a healthier

Students would perform better if they had more time before school to eat breakfast, they also would be more rested and not feel drowsy during classes, and finally wont be home alone for too long after school enough to be mischievous. School should start later because if students would have more time before school, they would have time to eat a fully nutritious and healthy breakfast. Growing up, teachers and parents have both emphasized that breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it fuels a person throughout the day. Although more time may be needed before school to dress, shower and eat breakfast students and some parent don’t realize that if school started later, bus routes would have to be shifted and employee’s contracts and work hours would significantly change which the School District has predicted to be a $220 million cost which board members are not eager to sign (American School & University). “We need more sleep.
