The Importance of Economic Culture in the Context of Future Progress Abstract The main burden of building a new society generally is carried by general education school. The design and implementation of the school reform in Georgia was the response to it. There still is a big gap in students’ economic education which is one of the most important factors for transition to new (market) economy. Economic education will be an important instrument for altering “reasonable egoism” to “reasonable altruism” in future citizens. Preferential values of the highest possible consumption should be replaced by the values of saving, reasonable rationalism, and creative development. This concept should depict the situation in our world and the role of human in it. The adjustment of the society and its life-style to rapid changes is difficult, and sometimes painful.
