Feynman's skill and rapid acquisition of the new concepts being developed impressed Bethe to the point where he made Feynman a group leader. Feynman's work partnership with Hans Bethe lead to the creation of the Bethe Feynman formula, which calculated the yield of a fission atomic bomb. Force Fields Summary Response In Michio Kaku’s article “Force Fields”, he explains how a force field can deflect laser beams. Throughout out his article Kaku shows that future science might be able to provide the same technology as science fiction TV shows such as Star Trek because he believes that science would overcome issues of limited technology. In order for force field function correctly he suggests that there has to have three layers. The outer layer is high temperature plasma created by supercharged plasma window. The middle layer is a group of laser beams.

If light was a particle moving through ether than it should have had a variable speed as the earth was also moving (Ruswick, lecture 23). The Michelson and Morley experiment proved that the speed of light was constant; this disproved an ether (Ruswick, lecture 23). But fear of throwing away old theories for new led to the rejection of Michelson and Morley’s experiment not the ether theory (Ruswick, lecture 23).
