There has been issue has been raised on how the Smartphone in the digital technology changed our lives. Not long ago, a cell phone was only a portable device that was used to initiate and receive calls. The cellphone has evolved into a smartphone with more features and more ways to disseminate information and to communicate with others. Smartphones, however, are changing human interaction as children and adults are tempted to use them in all situations. As a result, measures have already been taken to monitor and to limit the use of Smartphones. Smartphones are now essential devices in our lives. Most individuals check their smartphones first thing in the morning for any important information, emails, or texts from co-workers or family. To check on our Smartphones is part of our morning routine like brushing our teeth or taking a shower. Even though Smartphones make life easier, some ethical issues have risen with their use in the work place, in school, and in cars. The Impact of the Smartphone Companies rely on the smartphone technology to raise the bar of productivity from its employees (Garrone, 2003). But this becomes a problem when the employees use the smartphone for their own personal use during work hours. Therefore, companies have established policies regarding the personal use of smartphone during work hours. Currently 49% of the entire U. S. Population uses a smartphone and that number is expected to rise by 68% in 2017 (Stadd, 2013). In a recent Mobile Mindset Study sixty percent of Americans check their smartphones at least once an hour (Boal, 2014). These figures showcase the way by which smartphone technology revolutionized the way we live and interact with others.
