The Hiring Process International Business Research David Euto CTU Online MGM 336 Professor Banto 11/5/11 The Hiring Process Part B As the Vice President of a business looking to expand into an international business operation we should look at the statement of when doing international business, like opening a business in Japan there are a lot of things to consider. The first thing would be language because we will need to communicate to do business over their. We also need to research this countries social, culture, legal and political values. Social trends will deal with their education system, entertainment, population and language. Culture deals with religion, beliefs, employment and business etiquette. The economy of many nations’ changes with world events and what is going on at that time. The legal system explains how they deal with the problems in their country. The court system varies within each region as well as politics and government. In Japan they have a social system quite similar to ours but they put a lot into respect of their elders. The educational system was revamped to be more like ours here in the USA. As for religion it varies greatly so we must emphasis this to our managers so not to offend the Japanese employees. As for employment training the Japanese train their workers six to twelve months in all departments and a work week consists of 48 hours without overtime pay. Unlike the Us, Japanese employees are very respectful and conservative. Each country has a traditional society with a strong social and employment hierarchies. Japan uses many industrial policies that promote the growth of more new sophisticated industries, but direct export promotion measures are no longer part of the policy packages.
