The Hidden Love Story of My Life Honey-Marie Rugg Everest University Online ENC1101-46 The event that changed my life was the day that I met the man who is now my fiancé. It was in the middle of February. I attended a class at the local adult education center. I already have my GED, but I like to go there to help out. I was sitting at the sign in table when he walked in. He signed in and then introduced himself. He said is name was Andrew. I sized him up a little bit. He stood about 5’9, with brown wavy hair, and brown eyes. He had a sense of self-confidence about him. I guessed that he was in his early to mid thirties. I thought he was kind of cute. He didn’t appear to be the type of man I would deal with, but he was cute just the same. The center holds GED classes twice a week. The classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm-8pm. Two hours twice a week isn’t a lot of time for the students to study for their GED exam. On the night I met Andrew for the first time I was assigned to be his mentor. For most of the first hour we discussed his weaknesses that he needed to work on to prepare for the GED exam. Andrew told me that he quit school when he was in 9th grade. This information helped me to understand why he needed so much work in certain areas. During the next hour we setup a learning schedule. We decided that since he needed work in four areas that we would work on two subjects on Tuesdays and the other two on Thursdays. He agreed that it was a good plan. I told him that I would see him on Thursday night. On Thursday night we started on his worst subject which was math. We worked for the first hour and he had a good attitude, but seemed unsure of his abilities to bring his math skills up to par. During the second hour we were working on his writing skills.
