Abstract Clifford and Joyce Penner wrote a guide to sexual fulfillment using a Biblical approach and enlighten readers that the gift of sex is from God. The book covers multiple dimensions on how sex is physical, mental and spiritual and that it is in the context of marriage that they can fully enjoy one another. By guiding couples and helping them to really learn to know each other through communication is only part of the equation. The Penner’s multifaceted approach deals with subjects that most people only get to read about through the secular society. By incorporating God into the equation and helping people understand that sex is a divine given gift from God. People of Faith are able to fully understand the joy that they have to offer their spouse. Penner’s, take sexuality out of the shadows and bring it into the light in a healthy, Faith based guide for all married couples, to find answers to questions they may have not ever had answered. The Gift of Sex Book Review Our sexuality is a gift from God For many in the Church, sex and sexuality is not a topic that is easily or readily discussed. It is glossed over by referencing the” Ten Commandments”. Number seven is, “Thou shalt not commit adultery,” (Exodus 20:14). Jesus spoke on this as well in the New Testament, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart,” (Matthew 5:27-28). These verses may imply to some, that to talk of sex and sexuality is to sin. But, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,” (2 Timothy 3:16), and should include instruction on how sex and sexuality is God inspired and led in the proper framework.
