The earth’s natural resources are vital to the survival and highly develop the human population. However, it is the human population who is increasing life’s difficulty and slowly accelerating, destroying what is providing them with life and shelter.. Men have invented a new technology that gives quality to life and in fact, makes many things a lot easier for us. Unfortunately, along with technology humans have introduced devastation to our environment. Within the negative effects of human caused devastation runs the destruction…show more content…
It all depends on the way in which we use technology and its matters. The negative effects on our environment are caused by men and their abuse of power and control. The extinction of certain animals is a proof that not only the human species is being affected but also animals. For instance, in the essay “The sacred balance”, the author David Suzuki claims that, “our ecological impact has been greatly amplified by technology” (133). This shows the way Suzuki supports the fact that the use of technology has highly impacted society and our environment. Furthermore, a clear example of the destruction towards environment would be deforestation. Deforestation is the permanent destruction of forests. It is considered to be one of the main contributing factors to global climate change. In addition, the over consumption of fossil fuels has brought to the world too many carbon dioxide and that has become a big concern today along with deforestation. By encouraging deforestation, humans are also encouraging the destruction of animal habitats. In result, animals are put into the necessity of moving from their original habitat creating instability in the food…show more content…
Healthy forests help absorb greenhouse gasses that are caused by human civilization. Without trees, more carbon and greenhouse gasses enter the atmosphere. In fact, this leads us to another problem. As you know, the most vulnerable part of planet earth is the atmosphere. The atmosphere is a thin layer of gases that surrounds earth and it composed of 21% of oxygen. One big concern today is the fact that pollution causes global health crisis. Although humans cannot imagine the situation they will face in the future, many of us do not act towards this problem. For instance, people that have respiratory problems such as asthma would not even have a chance to live “safely” on earth. As the author Al Gore writes the essay “The climate Emergency”, he claims that “people tend to assume that the earth is so big that we as human beings can’t possibly have an impact on it” (456), adding that is a mistake to let it go and don’t do something about it just because earth is so ‘big’. Society does not realize the damage they are causing to earth; many of our own actions may affect life in a very dramatic
